BUSH GOES BACK TO SCHOOL Bush pledges to "leave no child behind." Expected to propose buddy system. In an effort to reinforce positive behavior and good study habits, Mr. Bush has proposed an education package that will spend $30 million on stickers to give students who score high marks. According to Mr. Bush, colorful stickers that read "Great!" "Good job!" and "Pokemon Rules!" are the type of thing that will give students the incentive to work hard. However, some politicians fear that Bush's proposals are too demanding, especially the one that calls for all third-grade students to be eligible contestants on "Jeopardy." But Secretary of Education Ron Paige promised a group of educators that by 2008, 80 percent of all students would be able to get the "Audio Daily Double." "Above all, it is important that our schools make sure that our children are literate," Mr. Bush said. He then added, "The schools should also guarantee that they can read and write." In addition, Mr. Bush also proposed to spend $300 million on a new drug treatment program for kids that are "Hooked on Phonics."
