This happened to my wife, who had been in a wheelchair for over 45 years: She had a heart attack and was recovering in the hospital when her substitute doctor came in to check on her. Once finished, he announced "now you can get up and walk the halls."

She said, "You mean that I can walk now! If I had known that, would happen I would have done this a long time ago!"
